Allnorth’s award winning multidisciplinary engineering and technical services team is fortunate to be part of the significant growth of the company over the past few years. Our continuous improvement philosophy, skilled professionals and technical experts have allowed us to take on challenging and exciting projects while servicing clients in the Mining, Oil & Gas, Infrastructure and Pulp & Paper sectors.
As the successful candidate, you will assist with developing electrical power and instrumentation & control systems for small to large multi-disciplinary projects for a variety of clients. This position performs a variety of functions including analysing the information and sketches provided by other designers and engineers, and applying your understanding of design to illustrate visual instructions using computer aided systems. The role will rely on strong Computer Aided Design (CAD) skills paired with knowledge of industry standard electrical and instrumentation design practices. You will perform defined assignments with a high degree of accuracy while maintaining the consistency of drawings with other departments. As a member of our agile team, you will work on electrical, controls and instrumentation aspects of projects as required. Common deliverables include 3D models, single-lines, motor schematics, equipment and instrument lists, grounding and lighting layouts, schematic and interconnection diagrams, cable tray and equipment layouts, cable schedules, cable block diagrams, loop sheets and control panel layouts.
Using your communication and technical skills, you will work as part of a multi-discipline team of engineers and project team members towards ensuring projects are completed within allotted schedules and budgets, and to high quality standards.
- Diploma or certificate in Computer Aided Design and Drafting.;
- 2- 3 years of experience in an industrial design and engineering environment;
- Proficiency in Schematic Design (AutoCAD) is key;
- Proficiency in 3D Design (AutoPLANT, Plant 3D) and Microstation is an asset;
- Experience in the Mining and Pulp & Paper industry is an asset;
- Working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code is an asset;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Technical competence and attention to detail;
