The Area Sales Manager will provide both oversight to and accountability for all Materials Sales for Cadman Materials South for Concrete and Aggregates.  The area of responsibility for this position will be Oregon and S.W. Washington.  Working with the Area Managers this role will jointly develop and manage a sales strategy that maximizes market opportunities and assures all sales are generating a profit. The role will drive the sales team's focus to growing the current business through the existing customer base and segments, as well as capturing new customers and creating opportunities to sell added products and services.

What you'll get to do: 

  • Effectively develop and leverage existing customer relationships as well as achieve the new business goals of sales growth and margin within each segment
  • Develop and drive Market Management Plans as well as Customer Management Plans within the market
  • Field presence 50-60% of time inspiring, motivating, coaching and developing individual sales capabilities to efficiently execute the sales strategy and deliver on the regional sales goals and objectives
  • Design, develop and implement a sales and marketing excellence development program for the sales team to realize sustained improvements in sales and marketing performance
  • Identify in tandem with Area Managers, strategic and key business opportunities within markets for the areas of responsibility
  • Ensure all activities and sales processes are aligned to Lehigh Hanson's Company Values and strategy
Who we are looking for:  
  • Post-Secondary Degree in Business or Management, construction market experience and industry knowledge is an asset
  • Three to five years of sales and/or management experience and relevant tertiary qualifications in sales, management and/or engineering
  • Proven track record in a sales leadership role and in managing local/regional teams
  • Strong leadership skills and outstanding ability to influence and coach others
  • Outcome focused and strong achievement and customer service orientation
  • Ability to build effective internal and external key stakeholders
  • Advanced skills in problem solving, decision making, verbal and written communication, customer service, negotiating and exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated sales process orientation
